So I decided to pick up my piggy, checking on him since recently he scraped his nails off after the quick and they were still a bit short and bloody. (Proper care was provided) I notice on the new fleece liner there was teeny blood streaks from his hide. I assumed it was from that. I put him on my bed, arms around him. I inspect it, and keep in mind, he's a very calm piggy. He never bit me his whole life, (2 years of having him) and even when he injured his paw, that never changed. I see the wound is no longer bleeding, and I attempt to put him back in the cage. But when I put my hand on his bottom and put my other under his stomach, he quickly turns his head and bites me. Not that hard, he didn't break skin, he just snapped at me. Like I said, this isnt normal for him. I take my hands off and he lies down. I try to pick him up, and he does that same motion. He turns his head, and nips at me. I try once more, same thing occurs. Kind of creeped out, have you ever had this type of expirience?

Hi!

When a piggy suddenly tweaks you repeatedly, then this a very strong message that he doesn't want to be touched where you are holding him. It in a piggy that you have had for months or years, this usually means that something is painful in that area. If blood is involved, I would have him vet checked and most certainly have a close look at this area; whether that is an injury, the very onset of skin parasites or something else.

I just now looked at him and his belly. I didnt see any parasites, patches of skin, irritation, or bloody spots.

I realized now when I was picking him up that I was touching the back of his wounded front paw. He doesn't do it when I pick him up from the other side. It's been healing.
