Why oh why did I look? I always have a peek to see what low lifes are disposing of their piggies on Gumtree in my area. There's one on there today, getting rid of a boy and a girl, cage etc for £110. Kids got bored with them, want them gone asap. I emailed the person and said the female will be pregnant unless the boy is neutered and that perhaps she might like to try our local GP rescue. Does my head in

This is why I don't go on schpock, I was looking for a large guinea pig cage and all I saw were small ones that looked hamster size and some came with a guinea pig but it just made me mad that cages that size are being sold for guinea pigs.

I've had an email exchange with the lady so I feel I am trying to help. I do feel sorry for her - she's had them a week, bought them from PAH, large cage everything. I've told her to get them back to PAH to get them properly sexed - she is sure it is a boy and a girl. She bought them for her two children (4yrs and 2yrs) and the 2 year old (not surprisingly) keeps opening the cage and trying to touch them so they are scared. She wants to keep them and I've tried to advise on best way of gaining their trust. But of course the most important thing is to get them sexed - she said they are between 10-12 weeks old. I've asked her to tell me how she gets on. I hope she does.
