Black marks on foot

Hi, we've noticed a black mark has developed on one of our piggies foot over the last couple of days. We went to trim his nails today and spotted it. Can anyone advise what it is? He doesn't seem to be in any discomfort with it. Many thanks in advance!

Hi

It looks like normal skin markings to me? Please be aware that the skin in those areas that would have coloured hair has a different colour even where there is no hair growing. This purply skin tone is normal for piggies with ginger hair.
 
Hi, thanks for the feedback :)

I could be wrong, but I don't think it was there before. We've had him about 7 weeks and I think I would have noticed it before as he stands up on the side of the cage for treats.

But I could be wrong and just never noticed it!

Do you have any older pics where his foot might show?
 
I was coming on here to post a similar question. One of our guinea pigs has black marks on the bottom of her feet. Slightly different to the OP I think but maybe people would be good enough to give an opinion please? I don't remember them being like that until recently so I'm pretty sure it's something that's developed recently.

That's on the sole of her feet. On the top of one of her feet is a strange thing that looks like another nail growing out. Is that something to be concerned about?

That just looks like dirt to me, have you tried to clean it off?
 
Didn't want to rub it in case it was sore. I'll try to give it a gentle wipe and see what happens.

Any thoughts on the nail thing?
