Need urgent help! I've just noticed large amounts of blood in Grace's cage on the fleece and in the litter tray. She went to the vets two weeks ago with a suspected bladder stone my vet did an xray and it showed she had one in the urethra but he was not able to operate and remove it as the tube is too small. He told me to give her 0.45ml of baytril twice a day and 7ml of metacam once a day for two weeks. The noises have stopped and she has been fine up until now. I really don't know what to do next.

I think she needs to go to the vet asap. Blood in the urine could mean that the stone has shifted or that she has an infection, amongst other things, - I would definitely class that as an emergency, so ring the vet. Good luck, I'm so sorry for your piggy.

I agree she needs the vet. I know some vets have successfully removed stones, it depends how guinea pig savvy they are. Could you be more specific with your location as we may be able to recommend a vet? How is she in herself, does she seem in pain? is she eating ok?
