Bladder stone surgery

Hi I’m new to this forum and desperately need help. My guinea pig has been really ill in the last few weeks, I took him to the vets and she suspected that his flora levels in his gut wasn’t as they should be... she gave him antibiotic and probiotics as well as pain relief. He seemed to get better only now he is crying and I think he is in pain when pooing and peeing so I took him back to the vets today. She said that she doesn’t know what’s wrong and wants to observe him for the day giving him anaesthetic to look in his mouth, give him an X-ray and ultra sound. She values this a a couple of hindered pounds does this sound like the right amount? Also if it were to be bladder stones how much do you pay for the surgery?

I'm sorry your boy is unwell. You would be better off asking your surgery how much they charge for surgery. It may likely differ and you don't want to expect one price and pay another. I hope they can get to the bottom of what's causing him pain. What antibiotic was he put on - dosage and how often? Same for the pain relief as well.

I’m sorry that your boy is unwell. As @Siikibam has mentioned, you’re better to ask your vets how much the surgery will cost as it varies massively from vet to vet.
