hi. My Guinea Pig (girl) who is nearly 5 has just recently (2weeks ago) had an op to remove bladder stones. She was on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory for 1 week after it. She was fine and stopped passing blood in her wee.

She stopped the medication on Saturday morning and by Monday night she was squeaking when weeing again and the blood has now returned and she is squeaking like before. She has lost a lot of weight but seems to be eating ok.

Can anyone give me any advice to help her please? .

Thanks

I would speak to your vet. It is possible though that she has some residual inflammation in her bladder and so she would need the anti-inflammatories for a while longer. An x-ray would be a good idea too to check that another stone hasn't formed. Do you have any pain relief left?

Great advice above, i would expect a longer course f pain killers metacam which is anti inflammatory also to help with the healing.

Sending her lots of healing vibes please keep us updated on her
