My poor Ginnie is having surgery to remove two stones from her bladder today. I'm so afraid I'll lose her.
Any healing wheeks, vibes and crossed paws will be so gratefully received.

This is the third time she's had stones removed and I'm desperate to break this vicious cycle. Any suggestions how to do this would be very very welcome xxxxxxx

Healing wheeks to little Ginnie. Crossing everything for her. I don't have any advice sorry but wanted to send positive vibes x

Lots of love and vibes to Ginnie x

three times...eek! Poor Ginnie, sending lots of love and healing vibes and virtual hugs for you xx

Thanks guys for your wheeks and vibes, I'm just waiting to hear from the vets. The longest day of my life....

Good luck hopefully she will feel so much better afterwards :)

As to prevention, my vet has prescribed Potassium Citrate for preventing stone build up for my piggy, it may be worth mentioning to your vet.

I tried this with Patrick and he developed stones within a matter of weeks, I do think the Potassium Citrate might of helped the stone formation so do be careful, of course this is just based on my own experience.

Thanks, I just replied on the other thread :) So many with stones, it's awful :(

Life is so weird, I have good news and bad news. Good news is... Ginnie dose'nt have stones. An x ray was done and they couldn't find any. They went back to the original x ray that my own vet had done (I was sent to Trinity vets as a referral) and what was thought to be stones was crusty nipples. Ginnie has ovarian cysts and her nipples are crusted up and the x ray picked up that.

However the bad news is after investigating further they have discovered she has fluid on the lungs and an enlarged heart. She has been put on heart meds and diuretics.

Whilst I'm delighted she hasn't had to endure surgery, I'm a little numb that it feels like 'out of the frying pan in to the fire'. I'm off now to do some research in to 'heart' pigs.

Oh and to end on a positive note, I learnt today that I've been promoted at work. More money for those vets bills....;)
