bladder stones

I have 3 year old female guinea pig who just had bladder stone surgery.....1 stitch incision....but after a week and 1/2 is still not eating on her own, except a few bites of lettuce and hay.. I have been feeding her critical care and water to keep her going. She still seems uncomfortable peeing and a still see a tinge of blood in it. She is just laying around. She responds when I come in with lettuce but she eats very little. She is on .5 baytril for 2 weeks and meloxicam .25 intermittently ...any thoughts

I’m sorry that your girl still isn’t well. Is she on dog
meloxicam or cat meloxicam?

That’s good. I would however phone your vet and see if you can increase the dose a little as your piggy may still be in pain x

I’m sorry your girl is still unwell. Switch to weighing her (once) daily at the same time and top her up with syringe feed. Was she booked in for a post-surgery review? I would consider popping her back to the vet for a check, especially as she’s still in pain. I hope she starts improving soon.
