Hi, I had nugget vet checked for weight loss 29/07 and they said they thought they could feel a lump in her bladder area which they said may be a stone and advised we watched for blood in the wee or squeek weeing then she may need an xray. She's eating perfectly fine but for the first time today I think we have blood? They're on pink vetbed but this is the puppy pad underneath, she'd just weed in that area before I lifted it? Time to book the x Ray? ☹️

Sadly yes, this does look like blood :( I suggest you do have that X-ray done especially if the vet can feel a lump
Thankyou, I did wonder why they didn't xray straight away but then she was examined while babybelle was bring pts, I will email the vets tomorrow to get an x Ray booked 😞

I agree - blood. I'm really sorry. Hopefully they will be able to do a quick conscious x-ray and get you an answer 😟

Thankyou 💖 I'm definitely going to tell them I want to book an x Ray especially since Friday she had lost weight again (did have a small gain yesterday but shes much smaller than her usual) oh dear poor nugget xx

If she does have a stone it doesn't inevitably mean an op - sometimes they can pass it with a bit of assistance, but vet'd have to see the x-ray to know where it is and how big before making any decisions. Good luck Nugget x

Thankyou 💖 I figured as much 😞 xx

I got a phone call today confirming that she's booked in for tomorrrow, feed as normal and give metacam as normal 🙈 never had a pre admit phone call before 🙈 pleased to report she's gained 40g and no blood today, I'm hoping that means if she did have a stone she's passed it without us knowing but at least we will know tomorrow 🙈 she did look a bit sulky this morning which is unlike her she's normally first to the front to say hi but she's been OK this afternoon 😊💖
Excuse the poops I was just about to cage clean 😂

Well not what I expected- bladder tumour 😭 palliative care again 😭 can someone change the title of the thread to bladder tumour please?

Sorry about Nugget's diagnosis 😔 That's so helpful you pushed for an xray and realised things weren't right, so you can give the best care now.
Yes I've got a piggy with a bladder stone and piggy with a bladder tumour, vet review tonight. The tumour piggy I've just had since June and she's 5 or maybe 6 so it's very sad and hangs over you, but not like losing a piggy who's been a family member for years. What care has been recommended?

I’m so sorry. 😔 I don’t have any experience of this issue but wanted to send you a hug. ❤️

Sorry about your piggies diagnosis too 💔
Pain relief is the reconmended, we had a long discussion about whether to surgical biopsy to confirm the type but it'd wipe the entire vet fund and won't change the outcome since it doesn't look to be operable and could likely have already spread and decided to save the funds for if she needs additional pain relief on top of the metacam, especially since she's lost a lot of weight we risk her not waking back up and she has more good than bad days at the moment so I'd sooner keep it that way as long as possible than risk loosing her on the table/ putting her through surgical recovery she lost over 100g post spay and I don't think she has 100g to loose given she's currently the size she was at 7months old 😖 She was showing pain on examination today which she didn't show back in July even with the metacam so I'm preparing incase she needs more than metacam but hopefully the metacam will be enough for now 💖
