We had Tilly to the vets just over 1 week ago for the same reason. She has deep red clotty blood coming out of her lady bits. When we got to the vets it had stopped but they said she was a bit inflamed so put her on Baytril and metecam.
We are now here again so off to the vets in the morning. Hope it's nothing too serious :(

Oh no! :( Healing vibes to Tilly, I hope the vet can get to the bottom of it.

Good luck, I would get them to do a scan or xray if possible. There can be a number of reasons for blood from the lady bits, Pyometra is one but with my Terk is was an ovarian tumour that was treated with hormone injections.

Aww poor little tilly.

Has she been checked for an ovarian cyst, bladder stones or sludge, cystitus?
Xrays or an ultrasound should show up all but cystitus.

My Ellie was found to have an ovarian cyst by an ultrasound &has been given hormone injections that seems to have stopped her reoccurring uti's &she was suffering from very heavy bleeding at the time, mainly during pooping &not weeing it seemed worse at the time just before she was found to have a n ovarian cyst.

I think some of the others on here have found alternative antibiotics more effective against urinary problems than baytril. Although that's the licensed AB of choice by most vets. Afraid I can't remember its either Septrin/marbocyl/or zithorax is generally more suited to uti's &associated problems.
Hopefully one of the experts can help more with this :)

Good luck at the vets &make sure the pain relief is strong enough if needed, preferably doses split throughout the day.

Healing vibes &speedy recovery.

For UTI Septrin has always been the antibiotic of choice.

My female had the same and had bladder stones and cystic ovaries. I hope she's ok!!

I was thinking that it could be pyometra or ovarian cysts. There is trace of blood this morning so don't think its a recurring Uti. The vet I use is ok for minor things but I need this to be investigated further so going toa rrecommended vet who I know can do the job properly :)

I have the same problem with my piggy, Petal. She has had IC for 2 years & has been passing blood recently, but this has happened before. Yesterday she had x-rays, scan & blood tests & also a sample from her uterus taken as it was swollen & full of fluid & pus :( She also had a huge ovarian cyst. I recommend you try to see a cavy savvy vet who is prepared to do the same for your piggy, as really only these tests will show up what is wrong. Good luck, I now have the awful wait for the results to come back, I am hoping it isn't anything bad :(

Back from the vet. They have said because baytril has worked before then we just need to put her back on it for another week and see how she goes.
If it doesn't get better need to go back for further investigation.
Don't think that my usual vet is that bad after going to this savvy vet :(

Oh dear, hopefully the Baytril will work but if her symptoms continue over the next few days once the Baytril should have kicked in then I would ask for an xray.
