I put Disney and Paris out in the pen tonight with a few boxes etc to play in. When I went to put them back there was little splodges of blood.

Paris seems to have cut her foot on the little pad under her nail, its stopped bleeding now, should I leave it alone or clean?

Hutch has been cleaned out tonight, but should I clean her foot tomorrow?

Hey

Personally I would just leave it alone but keep an eye on it! A couple of weeks ago i was cutting my piggys front nails, just when i went to push the clippers down she moved and i caught a chunk of her pad in the cutting bit of the clippers which bled quite a bit! Obviously it was a complete accident but i felt terrible that it had happened. I stopped the bleeding, and just gave it a wipe over with some boiled and cooled kettle water with tiny bit of salt in the first night and from then on just litrally left it alone but kept an eye on in incase of infection!, took about a week or so to fully heal but it healed up absolutely fine.

Thanks Honey, I just gave it a wipe with a tissue to stop the bleeding and put her back in the hutch but will check on it tomorrow.

Do nothing, leave well alone. Just think, if they cut themselves on the foot when you are not there to see it happen....

With cuts the main concern is always stopping the bleeding. Since it's a very minor cut which hardly bled I'd agree that it's worth just keeping an eye on it as it heals. You'll hardly know anything happened by tomorrow!

Just to let you know, Disney's foot is fine ....... just panicked when I noticed the blood, but thanks for all the advice :)

Glad to hear all is ok. I always have a bottle of Savlon spray handy and it helped Minny's bumblefoot by coating the skin and stopping infection getting in.

No need for Savlon, it just provides a sticky layer for any debris to attach itself to the area!
Let the immune system look after the problem.

I have left well alone and it looks fine, you can see the cut but its healing fine :)
