Junior Guinea Pig
Hi all, I noticed yesterday my piggie Maisy was squeaking quite a bit when she was urinating, it was the first time I had noticed she was doing it so I left her a bit to monitor it (hoping it was a one off). Today after some cuddle time I put her back in her cage and watched her as she went for a wee. She did the same squeaking as she went but as I far as I could tell there was no blood in the urine itself. However, when she went to move I noticed around her lady area it was red as though there was blood and when she went to wipe herself there was a spot of blood on her bedding, bright red blood. I picked her up to check around the area but all the blood had been wiped away. Was wondering if anyone could suggest why this is? I will make a vet appointment but was just looking for some advice in between then. As far as I can tell shes eating and drinking fine, still her chirpy self. Although, i'm not sure how relevant it is but I did notice quite a few days ago she was quite persistently nuzzling at her lower area if thats understandable, as if she was cleaning down there but she was doing it for a longer than normal period as though it was itchy maybe or something was bothering her? But I haven't seen her done this since. Any advice would be great, shes always been a healthy piggy and hasn't required any vet care whilst i've had her (almost 4 years) so i'm a little nervous for her.
