Hi all, I'm aware there are a number of feeds on this subject and most people point to bladder stones.
We took our guinea pig to the vets last weekend as soon as we saw she had blood from her back end. It was bright red and DIDN'T mix with her wee, there would be a circle of wee on a towel and a little stamp of red in the middle.
The vet carried out an ultrasound on her bladder and found nothing. We were sent off with anti inflammatories in the hopes it was a cut. It seemed to clear up! And she's been in constant good spirits.
2 days after finishing the course of medicine we've noticed the blood is back, this time darker and thicker. Her poos look wetter and thinner.
She's booked back into the vets for this evening however I'm after some advice as to what this could be and what direction we need to go in as I've found the vets need a bit of a push to get anything useful out of them. If I'm more clued up with what this could be then I can ask the right questions to the vet.
My current opinion is that there is an issue with her bowel. But what on earth could that be?!
If anyone has had previous experience please let me know!
Thanks
