Bleeding from male private part. V worried.

Hi all. I have just noticed that my male guinea, Bubba, has been spotting blood and there is blood around his male parts. Have booked in with the vets tomorrow but was wondering if any of you guys have has similar problems with your piggies. Thanks!

It could be that he has poked himself in his privates with some hay which has caused a small cut.

Just had a close look at his bit and there is no sign of a cut. I hope it isn't a problem with his wee kidneys.

Is it fresh red blood coming from his penis, around it, or just when he wees?

I'm really not sure. It's bright red around the penis but there were a few puddles (about the size of a 2p) one bright red and a few light pinkish puddles.

It could be a UTI, i had a piggy who lost large amounts of bright red blood to the point i thought something had gotten into his hutch and killed him. Thankfully after 2 courses of antibiotics he was fine

Crap, Bubba has a bladder stone. Poor wee man. The vet has given us anti b's and told us not to give him any foods high in calcium. He will need an operation to remove the stone. I don't care about how much this will cost (350) but was wondering if anyone else's piggies has had this operation.
