Hi our 2 female guinea pigs had babies 3 1/2 weeks ago all fine with mums and babies apart from baby. Baby's eyes are red (know this is ok) but 1 eye has gone a whitish in colour like there is another lens over it, no discharge, eye is open, baby is running around cage ok, eating ok do I need to be concerned. Baby is currently in a cage with another male (both babies are males) and we are hoping to keep them together if they grow up together. If baby is blind in one eye is there anything I need to do to make his life easier

Please have the baby seen by a vet to check whether it is an ulcer (white/blue film on top of the eye) or a congenital cataract (white inside the eye). Babies can be born with an inward turned eye lid, which can cause an infection (entropion). http://www.guinealynx.info/eyes.html

Generally, you do not need to do anything special for a baby with one blind eye, except to preferably not approach it from the blind side if that is possible. Otherwise, you won't know any difference.
