How can you tell if a Guinea has bloat or is just a little chubby? I think I may have been reading up too much on guinea stuff lately and I'm automatically jumping to the worst conclusion!
Fudge has always been a really big piggy and a bit chubby, and he does waddle when he walks. He's quite pear shaped if you look at him from the top and his belly sticks out a bit on both sides. His belly doesn't have a 'hollow' sound when tapped. He's a lazy pig anyway, but when he gets floor time he runs about like a mad thing and loves to play. He also lays on his sides all the time so it doesn't seem to bother him. His appetite has definitely not changed and he drinks a LOT. He's a greedy piggy and eats very fast so he can steal Skunk's veg too!
Both pigs' diet is pellet (Burgess Excel Nuggets - Blackcurrant and Oregano), lots of Timothy Hay, and veg (mostly carrot which they get daily handfed, and also curly/round lettuce) - they're quite fussy with their veg and don't seem very interested in other veg or fruit. They'll eat peppers at a push, and they very rarely get cabbage.
Is there anything I change in their diet to make my pigs feel better, even if it's just a bit of chub?
