None of my piggies have this at the moment but I am wondering how to tell if they have bloat. Are there any tell-tale signs?

Swollen, firm stomach; 'hollow' sound when the stomach is tapped; lack of eating; lack of pooing; hunched over looking uncomfortable; evidence of pain when handled. It may manifest itself with all, or just a few of these symptoms.

Bloat is often confused with gut-stasis. It is a very painful condition, and can be fatal. It requires urgent treatment by a vet.

Absolutely.
Often the first thing you will notice is they don't want to eat and there is no poo or certainly less poo's. The no poo is more apparent if the piggy is on their own so Miss Moo we knew straight away with. With Treacle she would be quiet and not wanting to eat, but obviously with Cookie in the cage you didn't notice the lack of poop's. You can often see them looking bloated too, and if you flick the sides of the tummy it sounds hollow.

Bloat is horrible :( What are the symptoms of gut stasis? My Daisy is on motility meds at the moment as she was dong very soft poops at the weekend :(

Gut stasis has many of the same symptoms as bloat, but doesn't necessarily come with the bloated/swollen stomach. My piggy had gut stasis after he reacted badly to an antibiotic - he stopped pooing completely and lost his appetite. He needed motility meds for 2 weeks to kick-start his system again.

That's what happened to my bladder pig Petal, she reacted to Zithromax & Septrin, that's why we use Marbocyl for any UTIs now :)
