Blodwen starts to meet the family...

Well Blod has been in a next door cage all day, there's been a lot of lively piggy chatter but Aunty Jezzy floof hadnt been to visit her at all so I thought they could meet on the sofa at critical care feed time. I fed Jezzy her critical care and popped her on the sofa. Then I fed Blod some critical care too and popped her at the other end of the sofa in her fleece hidey tunnel. I thought there might be a bit of friendly sniffing and chatter but...
Naughty Jezzy... seemingly completely unaware that there was another piggy person involved, ran up to Blod, gave her a smooshy great floof kiss to lick every last drop of spilled critical care off her face, then charged straight into the hidey tunnel too! And turned round in there flattening little Blod!
I didnt know what to do as they were very tightly packed in the tunnel so I just piled some cucumber slices in front of their noses. They ate the cucumber, then Jezzy came out and wandered off again... it was all rather surprising, especially for little Blod!

She does look a little surprised! Then again, if there were licks and floofy squishes with no squeals and skirmishes that sounds kind of promising. Fingers xd...
 
Well that's alright then, Jezzy doesn't care much just another piggy around with tasty chops and Blod's so surprised she doesn't mind getting squashed. She'll be so glad to have company what's the odd squash up and shared CC between friends. :lol!:
 
The only mild aggression has been between Theo and jealous little wife Puggle. Puggle wants to meet Blod. But she doesnt want Theo to meet Blod! Mad Piggle who is normally quite aggressive is being very friendly and is completely fascinated by Blod, she's been at the bars all afternoon chatting. Big pig Clover seems to approve of how little Blod is, she'll be no threat to Clover's dinners with that skinny little 800g bottom which is all Clover cares about. Theo keeps skipping and popcorning up to his man loft to look at Blod from above. He needs to check no eagles can steal her before their first date (he's very bothered about eagles stealing his ladies) and he also seems a bit nervous about how friendly Blod is compared to his difficult bad tempered beloved wife Puggle! Could it really be as easy as say hello and get an inviting lilac bum wiggle?!
 
We need answers to all the important questions:-
  • Will Lady Puggle accept Blodwen?
  • Will Blodwen survive being squished in a snuggle tube?
  • How will Theo react to having a lilac butt being wiggled at him?
  • Will Mad Piggle continue being friendly?
  • Will Big Pig Clover continue to approve of Little Blod?

Blodwen is the smallest pig, 790g. Jezzy is maintaining about 1kg on an empty tummy.
Well Jezzy noticed Blod was there tonight, and gave her a very thorough grooming. Jezzy has never really shown any social behaviours or dominance before but she's decided Blod is her new subordinate floof friend. It sort of seemed like they were really bonding and I kind of didnt want to separate them but Jezzy was getting a bit too... obsessively enthusiastic with the grooming and looked like she was trying to suck Blod's eyes out of her face- she licked her face soooo hard... Blod was a good sport but I think Jezzy was getting a bit too into the eye licking and face chewing to leave them together unsupervised tonight.
Definitely bonding the whole herd tomorrow, piggy daddy has a day off work and so do I so its a full cage clean, new piggy furniture, and a piggy soap opera!
 
Its really interesting, Jezzy went back with the main herd with her floofy pants all inflated with self-importance and chased her sister big boss pig Clover out of the hay tray and chin-upped her and won because she's taller and can stand on her hind legs better! Its chaos in there, everypig is dancing round on their hind legs like rabbits and turning the furniture upside down and zooming about and wheeking and chuckling... piggy daddy is having a of a job doing the poop scoops because dancing piggies keep landing in his poop collecting box! I think they are all excited for tomorrow :)

And... we are bonding! All the piggies are in the playpen with a big pile of hay and veggies.
Big boss pig Clover is trying to give Blod a bit of a hard time but Blod doesnt care! Clover tries to chase her... and Blod comes right back and eats hay from right under Clover's big chubby nose. Lady Puggle has decided diplomacy is the way forward and has been grooming Blod very politely. Theo is staying well out of Blod's way until the ladies decide if he's allowed to talk to her :)
 
Sounds good to me. It seems like Blod has a devil may care attitude as she's not intimidated by Big Boss Clover. Theo is being gentlemanly (gentlepigly?) by staying out of the way until he is introduced by the ladies to his new wifey.
