My girl ginger has blood in her pee I took her away from her cage mate i put in another pen for awhile. Though it takes her forever to pee she was in there for a hour and half hour and didn't go

The next day she did go but it looked a normal color so it's only every so often I guess

It’s usually the case that at the onset of a urine infection for symptoms to be inconsistent - some pees will be pink, some normal. Although do be aware that not all pink pees are actually blood, it can be a natural dye called porphyrin which are common at the onset of cystitis. Equally, clear urine can also test positive for blood.

The best thing is to have her seen by a vet

It was a very bright red.

She's also had issues with bloating since I got her.

Her vet appointment is later on today.

How it dries is the a key bit of information - blood dries brown and tends to separate from urine. If that happened then it is likely blood.

If she is bloating, then remove veg from the diet and follow the information in this guide

Digestive Disorders: Not Eating - Diarrhea - Bloat - GI Stasis (No Gut Movement)

Let us know how you get on at the vet.

Hi

Symptoms are very inconsistent at the start of any infection of the urinary tract, whether it is a bacterial urine infection caused by an overgrowth of faecal bacteria that have got into or a sterile cystitis (non-bacterial bladder infection with regular flares, better known as interstitial cystitis or IC).
The latter can at the best only be temporarily suppressed but not cleared but stands out due to a much lower (only rarely zero) count of bacteria in the urine. In both cases, it is normal to find blood and proteins - the latter a sign of infection - when tested. What most people are not aware of is that it takes a lot more blood to colour urine a light red than they would expect. ;)

The red in those pees is generally porphyrin and not fresh blood and you get a mix of seemingly clear pees that can test high in blood and intensely dark red pees that can test free of blood (I have both those t-shirts myself). It takes on average about 5 days for symptoms to develop fully. I would recommend that you book a vet appointment during regular opening hours for the start of next week when diagnosing and testing will be a lot easier and more conclusive.

Got home from the vet. Vet said if I didn't say that she has blood in her urine or if they didn't find any when testing then she would of said she's a perfectly healthy piggy. They said it's probably a uti so she needs antibiotics which I pick up tomorrow they said if she's us still bleeding after that then she needs x-ray to see if she has kidney stones.

How are your little ones now? I appreciate all the helpful information, and your experience. I am having a similar situation with one of mine, only hers was bright red melted crayon. There was also pink pee (spray). But yet she's acting just like normal.

She's doing well! No kidney stones which I'm very happy about
