Went to clean out the piggies cage and there is quite a bit of blood, went to investigate which pig it was from thinking they'd been fighting. When Alfie was running about he was leaving trails of blood and its coming from his private bits, can anyone tell me what this is or why it's happening, my mum says maybe he is a she but the lady in pets at home checked them all to make sure they were the same gender. I'm so worried about him now

Even itf it was a girl and your mum is going with the theory she is on her period they do not bleed when in season, you need to get him to an experience cavvy vet right away, this is not good. x

Please have him see by a vet as soon as possible.

It is probably a cut or bite on the penis or acute urinary tract infection. Your boy sounds a bit young for a bladder stone.

Sows don't bleed when in season. Any bleeding from the behind needs to be seen by a preferable piggy savvy vet.

Okay, thanks everyone, we will get him to see a vet asap, the bleeding has stopped now but we are still a bit worried, he was humping our other pig gus's face so I'm thinking he bit him.

My sow had bleeding when she had been toilet and she was given antibiotics for a bladder infection x

I hope all goes well at the vets and he's going to be okay. x
