I’m honestly confused at this point. I found three spots of blood in the cage. At first I got worried the pigs were fighting as they were reintroduced today. I checked both pigs for wounds but found none. Farley’s back leg was mostly wet but I found no wound. Next I checked where Farley’s staples were and noticed that they were a bit red and saw a little bit (what looked like) dry blood. I knew it couldn’t be bloody pee, as there would have been a larger area. I’m so confused. It seems there’s always something. (Looks brown in photos since flash was on. It’s red though)FAC4562C-F65B-419B-8365-08AEA9F3F790.webpABD80467-759F-44AE-A22C-2911C57EAB81.webp

Checked over Farley again in better lighting. It’s apears to be that where his staples were were not bleeding. Farley is walking by fine. I just don’t understand what happened.

I honestly don’t know. His nose was not bleeding. I also doubt them fighting since whenever I got to pick up Farley he hides behind Clifford. If Clifford hurt him wouldn’t he be afraid if Clifford?

I dont know much about behaviour towards each other as I'm only just about to pair 2 pigs in a few weeks. Have you checked under the fur all over? Feet? Other than that i cant think. Maybe its a nail ripped out

Ooh ouch. Hopefully not. I checked under his fur but not his feet yet. How would a nail rip out?

Thinking of taking him to the vet tomorrow, again. :( he’s been there like four times in the past 3 or 4 weeks.

Change the fleece out for a lighter coloured one if you have one, and keep an eye on it

i know the feeling, ive had one pig die of cancer then another one sick with bladder issues. £££££££

I’m just so frustrated with all of this. I’ll give him another check around, and check his toes in a bit.

Try relax . If they are still active and eating i wouldnt worry too much, if you feel you need a vet check go for it. Good luck I'm sure itl all be ok. It doesnt look like the blood is from urine. But i would check under the fleece to see if theres a urine patch underneath on the base layer if you use one. The fleece could hsve sivved the pee through and left blood on top. I'm probably wrong but worth a look

Toe nail fine. Bottom of feed fine. No pee in the towel under the blood. What the heck happened?

Family thinks it’s from his staples that was removed yesterday as one was a bit stuck and ended up being red. Who knows? Pigs doing rumble strutting which is the only dominance thing I’ve heard in the cage. Nothin fancy aggressive. Maybe I’m over thinking it?

I agree that is it most likely from when his staples were removed. if there are no new signs of bleeding and the scar is looking OK, I would not worry. it is not going to happen again.

Found more blood again today. Checked both pigs again. Nothing. Checked under the fleece for pee. Nothing. Blood was really cold. Farley is acting norma

Alright separating the pigs for an hour or two to see who the blood is coming from but will put them back together once we see who it is (although I’m 99% sure it’s Farley)
