Hi
So today I noticed in one of my piggies who is 1 years old that she had red bloody looking feaces from my understanding a bright red colour usually indicates that something is going on close to the anus rather than something further up ( i could be wrong) i dont know if whether this was caused by a bit of impaction(that maybe teared the anus slightly? that quickly sorted itself out. I'm really not sure though she has a healthy lifestyle
Has veg usually includes
Carrots
Celery
Spinach
Red pepper
Sugar snap peas

Lots of hay and out door excersise
What could be causing this?.

Hi, Please have your piggy seen by a vet ASAP. Bright red blood isn't a good sign and needs attention immediately.

:agr: Fresh blood is indicative of something needing immediate attention. Please have your piggy seen by the vet ASAP.

Hi, I have been going through this with my Donald. A couple of times we have had bright red blood in the cage and then nothing again for a few weeks. He has been treated for a UTI which has come back 3 weeks later so he is on stronger antibiotics again but we have not ruled out the possibility that stones have formed. He has had an xray but that didn't show anything. I am on alert just in case and if the infection doesn't go away or reappears within a week he will need a whiff of gas for more scans to check his kidneys.
