I went to clean out my guinea pigs this morning an noticed drops of what looked like dry blood in one corner if their run. Have checked them both over and there are no injuries so I am very worried it is blood in urine so a sign of something internally wrong. There are no patches anywhere else. Has anyone got any experience of this or any advice?

Firstly, take a deep breath...
Can you pop piggies onto a white fleece/towel to distinguish if it is blood - may need to monitor very closely to find out which piggy it is.
Sometimes, certain foods i.e. carrots, beetroot can cause dark wee so if they have not had any of these, it may be a urine infection which can be quickly treated by your Vet with Septrin and Metacam.
What bedding do you use ?

Yep, when I get home from work, I will pop them onto some white towels, separately, so that I can tell who it has come from. I wondered about food, but they tend to have 'green' greens, like romaine lettuce, green beans and cucumber. I use fleece bedding.

Symptoms of urine infections/cystitis (common ailments as piggies are so low to the floor) are squeaking when weeing/pooping and arching of the back.
Always best to get them checked over by a good Vet as bladder stones are an issue so the sooner, the better :)

Thanks so much, I'll keep a close eye on them tonight with those symptoms in mind. Really appreciate your advice. Dear little things, wish they could just come up and tell us what's wrong!

I agree that a vet check is needed. Hopefully it is a UTI and nothing more serious like a bladder stone. Your vet may even be able to express some urine to test if you are not able to get a sample beforehand.
