Patch had ovarian cysts removed on Tuesday, and had a small abscess on her side (from an infected bite) removed at the same time.
The wounds look to be healing nicely and after a tricky 24 hours where she wasn't moving or eating and drinking much (and I was struggling to even get anything in with a syringe) she has perked up considerably. She is now moving to the hay tray to urinate, instead of just going on the towel and remaining sat in it.
However, yesterday evening I noticed her wee was very concentrated and smelled quite strong - I thought maybe I'd not been giving her enough water as I'd stop syringing it when she started refusing and had only got a couple of mls into her each time.
However she has just jumped into the hay tray to wee and her urine was quite red. Is this something you would expect post Spay, or has she possibly got a uti? She is on Baytril currently (and has been on it for 2 weeks now due to the bite).

Hi!

I am very sorry that it is not plain sailing for you.

Please have her vet checked for a UTI or cystitis. The lowered immune system can allow opportunistis illness gain a foothold. The strong stale smell is generally a sign of an infection in either the urinary or the reproductive tract - and her lacking the second now, it has to be the first. Your vet may consider switching to a stronger antibiotic.

Thanks @Wiebke. Saw the vet this morning who advised keeping up with the metacam for the time being and to keep a close eye on her. The consensus after consulting with an other vet was that it could be due to inflammation post-op as she is improving and seems otherwise we'll in herself. They will give us a call in a couple of days and we are to go back in 5 days time.

Updating for anyone searching for a similar issue in the future. The bleeding lasted around 36 hours, then began to ease and today (2 days after it started) it has stopped and her urine appears normal again
