Blood ? or red pepper wee ?

There's certainly a difference between being against all vets, and bemoaning the state of individuals in the profession. I could complain about every vet I've used but still I'm aware just how good a few vets are.

TR - how is Bright Eyes today?

Thank you for asking :) Bright Eyes seems quieter than usual, although she is stuffing her face with her morning veg, lots of cucumber and water melon. She had some diluted cranberry juice, I think she likes it :) She hates the anti-biotic though.
I have just cleaned them out and have noticed patches of red urine again dotted about. I presume it will take a while to clear up the infection.
I'm going to pick some fresh dandelions in a moment for all of them :)

Just wanted to say sorry to anyone about the vet thing if I have upset anyone cos I didn't mean to :( You are all my friends on here and you and your piggies mean the world to me and I value this forum so much. I would be lost without it :( I'm just a bit tearfull at the moment, still miss my bunnies and it's coming up to a year since I lost Sleepy and George 8... 8...

It will take a few days for the antibiotics to kick in, probably a bit longer than if it was Septrin but it should still make some difference.

Re: the vet thing - You didn't upset anyone! It doesn't take much to spark a debate about vets, honestly just the mention of something a vet did/did not do will start some discussion on it. Nobody is upset at all. *Hugs*

I have just seen this thread as I have been away from the forum for the last few days. I am so sorry for what you have been through with Bright Eyes over the last few days. When Connie had her UTI's, she has blood, crystals and protein in her urine yet never a stone. If the Baytril doesn't clear things up within the next week, I strongly suggest that you ask for Septrin. Sending (((hugs))) to you and lots of healing vibes to Bright Eyes x

Note from admin

Whilst it is appreciated that 'some' vets are rather lacking in their knowledge of guinea pigs, it's the sweeping statements, that would suggest that 'all' vets are the same, that I cannot, and will not, accept on this forum.

in fairness, this was a bit of a general sweeping statement, i should have said, that the vets i have met have sometimes made me feel that they didn't really know and gave me one answer and its opposite, just in case.

I wouldn't want to imagine that all vets are unreliable, as I am sure many members have wonderful ones. I just haven't found one. :(

TR, I hope things can get better for you and your piggy.
