When we light our furnace for the fall/winter my oldest guinea pig, Tobie's nose bleeds a little for a day or two. I'm wondering if this is just because the air is drier? He did this last fall too. And also what it can do to help put moisture in the air by his cage?

You can get a humidifier. Or place a vessel of water next to the heat source, and a bowl of hot water, not too close to his cage, (as hot water might spill) you will be surprise how quickly it evaporates.
On old Canadian relative of my grandmothers, used to have a steam kettle on all the time in the winter as the air was so dry where she lived.
