Is the hutch inside or outside?
And is it the bluebell or the bluebell XL
If it is outside, then you cannot use fleece at all as it will wick moisture from the air and won’t remain dry.
I use megazorb or aubiose (both get topped with hay) and really like them both.
If they are inside, then fleece is an option for you and i will add our fleece guide below.
The bluebell‘s external measurement is 150x60cm. Internal it is going to be slightly less - if you have the hutch do measure it to check inside.
The bluebell XL is 180x60cm external
I would highly advise you line the hutch with plastic, correx, lino etc. You will then still need an absorbent layer on top of that - either a disposable bedding, or puppy pads if you are going to be using fleece
As an aside, I have a bluebell hutch which was originally used for my boar pair inside a shed (they have free roam and were only locked in at night - this is because the bluebell only just meets minimum size for a boar pair so can be a little on the small side unless they have additional space Attached) (the bluebell XL is the recommended size for a boar pair at 6ft x 2ft)
In terms of the bluebell (both the 150 and 180cm) outside - the boys now have a new hutch in the shed and the bluebell now serves as a shelter for one of my rabbits. It has not faired particularly well outside (its not even been outside quite a year yet) So it’s something to be aware of if yours is also outside. It’s not a particularly substantial hutch
