Hiya..

I have two boars who have been living together for a few months with no issues. They are 4 months old, and live in a 6x2 c&c cage. The more dominant boar has always rumblestrutted a lot but over the past couple of days it has been more and last night it was constant, he is also now mounting the less dominant boar. The less dominant boar isn't happy about it but they haven't had a proper fight. They both have seemed happy up to this point and both run around and popcorn lots, they don't quarrel over food, water or anything else it's just the humping I am worried about.

I've read the info on here regarding boars bonding and I don't think the less dominant boar is depressed, he's still perky but I am a bit worried.

Any advice welcome.

Welcome to the teenage hormones! Don't interfere unless it gets REALLY bad or there are fights.

Thanks for your help. I've read through the info again and realised a mistake I've been making with the boys, I was changing things in the cage every day to try and make it interesting for them, thinking if they were board they would be more likely to fight, I now see that was a mistake and have changed things back to the layout they had when they were getting on better. It seems to have helped, there has been less humping today!

Thanks again
