Boar Glue, Any Harm In Leaving It?

We have our first boar glue experience. Deep joy. It's caked under his chin in a big glob. It feels a bit sharp to the touch. I don't fancy trying to trim it off so would rather leave it if it is ok to do so.

I could be wrong... but I'm sure you can leave it. You can cut it off if it's easy to do so or just leave it to come off itself.. I don't think it does them any harm

I have a sow. Does that increase or decrease the likelihood of removal? And why do they remove it? What are they doing?

They will remove things stuck to their hair as a matter of normal grooming. Is the glue on his chin his own? You say you have a sow, do you have a sow and an un-neutered boar together?

Of course not! I've been around here long enough to know that is a no-no He is a boar that was neutered at a GP Forum approved rescue, bonded with a sow and rehomed to me as a pair But that does mean it is entirely his own glue. I kind of pinched the big glob out with my fingernails this morning so it is much less sharp now so I suppose it will come out in time, although I doubt he can groom under his own chin...

Worth checking, absolutely. I suppose he has been "grooming himself" further down and has made more of a mess than he began with!
