Hi guys,
My boar Sansa, he's about 4-6 years old (we got him from a neighbour so we can't be sure).

He's not been well for a couple of days, we've taken him to the vet and they couldn't find anything for why he wasn't eating properly, gave him a pain injection and some eye drops for his bulging eye.

However he's not eating on his own and all through yesterday we were hand feeding him, he's interested in sniffing food occasionally but just won't chew or swallow it.

And today I had a look at him and he had some strange muscle spasms going down his side, they didn't seem to bother him as he's been really lethargic, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this so I know what to experience we take him back to the vet!

Also when I put him on the towel I've noticed a few mites crawling around on it near him, if he has these mite could it be the root of the problem?

Hi! Please have your boy seen by a vet ASAP as an emergency!

Lethargy is very worrying and it is sadly rather likely that his body is already closing down. :(

Mange mites are not visible to the naked eye, and they are the ones that can fitting in an advanced stage - but your boy would have hair loss and raw patches of skin before it came to that!

Okay, thank you! I'll be taking him as soon as I can! His tremors have stopped now they only lasted for a little bit.

Thank you! We're just waiting to go in now.
We drove into the car park and he started drinking by himself! I'm relieved but annoyed that he'd start as we get here.

Its a good thing hes started drinking- this doesnt mean he is better however and his lack of appetite, mites and possible mild seziures should still be taken seriously. Animals are usually very thirsry after seziure activity so this could be the reason why he suddenly started drinking again.

I hope the vet can get him treated for mites and get to the bottom of it all.

Crossing my fingers for your boy. Hope the vet can do something to help him get better

Been to the vet, he said it is probably gastrostatis and has given him an injection to get his intestines working again, we've got some medicine for him too.
I showed him a video of Sansa's tremor and he didn't seem too worried about it, it did look more like a muscle twitch and could be related to the gastrostatis/his inwards just trying to work.

To be honest though the vet this time didn't seem very into helping Sansa, like the one on Friday was!

Good news! He's eaten some of his favourite celery. Though not enough that we'd be happy.

We've got a water nutrient supplement too just because it's easier for him to drink than eat so he'll still get some nutrition from that at least.
(We are still hand feeding him mushed up food pellets too)
