We've noticed lately that our 2 year old Alpaca boar Snowball has a bit of a smell about him and it seems to coming from around his 'male bits'. We've also noticed that he has little brown/black specks on his testicles which feel rough. Also doesn't have much hair on them either like my other boar Cookie. Is this normal? :/

Have you been cleaning his grease gland? If so maybe you need to do it more often.

When you say male bits do you mean his penis? If so and if you haven't already done so, it may be worth taking a proper look at it to see if he has anything trapped there. Pig gets "sperm rods" trapped and they smell terrible, but he has also had a bit of hay stuck there in the past! If you are not sure how to examine his penis without hurting him, please take him to the vets to get them to show you how to do it properly.

I'm not sure about the black flecks on his testicles, so I'm not going to comment on this, but if you are at all worried, please take him to the vets for a check-up.

His grease gland is clean as i did it the other day. I'm just concerned about the way his testicles look, there's no fur and there's tiny specks on the skin, could this be a fungus?
