Hi, my nearly 2yr old boar is not 100% he lives on his own in our living room he's perfectly happy having hubby and me as his herd so we couldn't see the point in getting a friend and perhaps upsetting that. He's generally healthy with his only abnormality been a chain of small cysts on his belly that we control by draining them when they get big enough to bother him.
8 days ago, Saturday, he peed on himself, I found him in the morning with wee on one leg and the belly on that side was soaked with it. I was thinking UTI or stones but the urine didn't seem gritty, he was fine in himself and the accident seemed to be a one off - I had given him a full clean out on Friday evening.
Onthis last Friday he was HUNGRY and at pushing towards 1.5 times the normal food volume (mainly fresh grass, but also spring greens, spinach, carrot tops and dry food) hay and water was available but as normal he didn't seem to have any worth speaking of either, this is not unprecedented so i wasn't concerned. However, on Saturday morning he seemed uncomfortable, I was worried about bloat, examined him and he released a huge fart then perked up instantly. We monitored him, restricted his fresh food and he was fine in himself running about, pop-corning and weeking as well as being affectionate and chatty. He had a full clean out yesterday afternoon and a bottom bath as he was very smelly.
This morning he has wet himself again, although still fine in himself, however, to be safe I was planning to grab a urine sample and get him into the vets tomorrow. However, when enjoying cuddles with my husband we noted his balls have changed (they were fine yesterday!), one has a shiny swelling about the size of a 5p piece (photo attached). His balls appear normal until they drop.
Any Thoughts? I don't really want to rush him into the vets today as the good exotics vet doesn't work on Sundays
