Hi guys,
Bob martins 100% recycled paper cat litter
I have just bought this stuff for my daughters rats litter tray, and it is just like carefresh, just much smaller clumps, can it be used for guineas too? I use newspaper and hay at the moment, which is ok for star and maisys hutch, but toffee and charlie's hutch gets soaked, Toffee drinks so much I clean it everyday, I want something to go on top of the newspaper and under the hay for extra absorbancy, this stuff is cheaper than carefresh at £1.98 a bag,
Anybody tried this stuff, Thanks guys

I'd only use it if I was out of Carefresh, personally. Usually if something isn't meant for Guinea Pigs, it shouldn't be used for Guinea Pigs. It may have a chemical in it that doesn't affect cats, but may kill GPs, for example.

But you can use it if you like. It may actually be the best thing to use! I'm just not much of a risk taker. :-\

i dont know about the paper bedding but the lady i got my piggies from uses another kind of cat litter for her piggies. i think it was the wood pellet one, very very similar to the guinea pig wood pellet litter u can get at pets at home but cheaper. apparently it is identical to the guinea pig one in ingredints and a lot cheaper, as she suggested i use it, however my personal opinions on litter are similar to wh33k, i wont use anything thats not meant for guinea pigs, just in case.

I would say Bob Martins paper cat litter is fine, I know a lot of rodenty people use it and have no problems, I wouldn't be worried about using it for my piggies anywho.

I really dont know...I dont think i would use it unless it says it can be used for guineas... :)

Actually it's a GREAT product! It's cheaper because it's for a smaller animal, and it's less process than the guinea recycled paper (i.e. carefresh). It's exactly the same just smaller. The only problem I would ever see with it is if your piggies like to munch on their bedding - i've had a few do so, but not to the point where it's a problem.

I say this because smaller litter = bigger choking hazard. However, it's big enough that I don't think it's a problem at all..
Up to you but I think it's a fantastic product! I'm all about finding the alternatives to the more expensive stuff, as running a rescue can add up! I'd rather have more money for vet billS! ;D
