Hi there,
I just got a female piggy through an ad in the local paper. She was only in her previous home for a few weeks and given up again because of 'allergies'. So I don't really know her history, but I wanted to give a home to a mature piggie in need of one. I was told she is 3 yrs old. Her nails are beyond over grown and she is over due for a bath so not the care I would keep an animal in, but she's a sweet girl! Still a bit timid, but with time and tlc she will come around.
So I hope I'm just over thinking, but she is so pear shaped. I can feel her ribs, but she get quite large towards her butt...please tell me she's just a full figured girl with some junk in the trunk and not pregnant....

That's awful! I have no idea if she's pregnant but she clearly was not someone's baby ): I am so allergic to my guinea pigs its not even funny, but I would never ever even THINK about getting rid of them:o

I wouldn't know for certain but she does seem a bit pear shape so would certainly monitor it

Weigh her daily and keep us updated. Of course, my male piggie is a year and a half years old and is pear shaped. He is just fat! Lol!

Many sows go pear shape after having litters- bit like us really, time will tell if she is expecting

she looks the same shape as two of my girls, but that is not confirmation that she isnt pregnant as mine are mature and well fed. I would be giving her a precautionary pregnancy wait and presume she well might be. Once she has passed the waiting period with no further evidence then you can assume she is a shapely pig.
