Bonded And Put My Two Sows Together.

I'm not sure if it's just a dominance thing or wether one of my sows is bullying the other We put them in together tonight after bonding them together. (They've met and bonded a number of times too) Although MoMo is a great deal bigger than Noodle...she is quite boisterous aswell. She keeps humping Noodle! Is this okay? Will it subside after they've got used to living together? I just want them to be happy together. They're in a 2x5 c and c cage that I built today so it's all new. They seem to be okay but then one minute MoMo is chasing and humping, also she keeps trying to get into the hideys with Noodle...and they're really isn't much room Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi! Please remove any hideys with just one exit during the dominance phase in which the hierarchy is established and confirmed. That takes around 2 weeks, but things should hopefully calm down more over the next few days.

Totally in agreement with Wiebke, we bonded a baby girl in with our two and Widget was chasing her all the time at first but it has died down after a week. Can recommend getting some large play sticks as houses as the have 2 entrances.

Everything has two entrances just was a bit scared because I don't want mo to squish little noodle she's tiny compared x

What are play sticks ? I have a straw/hay house I had to cut because mo was so big she couldn't fit in or out of it Xx

I use plastic stools or log arches during the bonding phase. Also, I can recommend the Fuzzbutts hooj cubes that also have 2 entrances

I've got some great big rounds thingys made of wood & teddies might take there mind off things. Whatever you do make sure there is 2 of everything in the cage, same toys, water bottles, food bowls.
So as long as they don't draw blood, with sows thats unusual. But don't quote me on that, sport_billy & Wiebke have both given you fantastic advice.

They have two of everything they seem to be okay only think I noticed was Noodle looks a bit scruffy on her back legs and mo is very boisterous I'm just scared she will squish her or attack her There my babies x

They're doing great! Noodle sees MoMo as a mother figure I think, they're sleeping together and eating and drinking together! Think it was meant to be! Bless them both they are loving their new cage too Xx
