Hi everyone!
I just got my very first guinea pig last Saturday, Crash. We went to the shelter and they had none (awesome) so we went to a pet store and they had 2 there. One was much bigger so we got the small one and she told us they would have more his size by next Saturday. I went this morning and got another, Nitro.
Without thinking I put him in the cage we set up last night (It's 5.5 ft by 3.5 ft) and Crash started squeaking and popcorning. Nitro was getting humped a lot, they were sniffing eachothers bums, Crash won't leave Nitro's side. They ate some hay together, both drank some water, licked eachother for a bit, and now they are in the hut sleeping together.
I guess my question is, is this normal?
Are they both young enough that I avoided any mishaps or should I separate them in a bit. Also, how long do I have to wait for them to bond before I can pick them up and hang out with them again? As in writing this they woke up and are popcorning around the cage together.
