Well I am trying it! :) Hopefully all will work out. I'm bonding Gizmo (3yrs) and Steve (2yrs) with Ringo (8 weeks). I have been doing 5 minute meetings several times a day, and all seems to be going well. :)) I'm going to increase them to 10 minutes from tomorrow I think. I made sure the older two had a tomato slice, so...

new piggy = tomato = happy Gizmo and Steve.

Gizmo has started to completely ignore Ringo, which I think is a very good sign. Steve is still humping the wee guy though, but it doesn't seem aggressive humping, just curious humping. They have been doing lots of chattering amongst themselves too! xx>>>

So yeah, some bonding vibes would be nice :) oh, and I have some new Ringo photos to share shortly.

Here are tips for bonding.

Make sure that the humping is not so extreme that the little one won't get any respite for eating and sleeping.

Please be aware that every meeting will start right back at the beginning of the piggy bonding protocol and that they will only be able to work through it if you let them get on with it.

Best of luck!

Good luck! I too have no experience of boys but first impressions sound good.

When my girls first met, Willow ignored Pixel too. They're good freinds now (most of the time rolleyes ) Hopefully it'll be the same for your boys :)

Ooo good luck! Keep us updated too, I'm also hoping to adopt a couple more boys next year to my current two little boys, and would love to know if this is possible! :)

It's not really extreme, I think its OK, I don't feel too worried anyway. The humping has been getting less and less each meeting, so I think they must remember their meetings, despite their tiny brains :))

Today they were all together for 30 minutes, lots of chattering. Tomorrow I think I will put Ringo in their hutch, and just keep checking on them. If all goes well, he will stay in there x)

ooh we will have to swap tips as I am currently bonding Gizmo (snap) and Nigel who are both 2 with Christopher who I think is about 5 months.

They all have different personalities which I think is helping. The meets outside the cage went really well and Christopher was absolutely desperate to get in with the other two. He would sit on top of his house all night and stare into the next cage!

He has now moved in and all is going OK so far, Gizmo the dominant male doesn't seem to mind him and Christopher has been grooming him which I am hoping is a good sign. Only thing that isn't going to plan is that Christopher keeps humping Nigel, which is odd as he is so tiny compared to Nigel. fortunately Nigel doesn't seem to bothered. yet!

When I introduced a new boar to my two I did it outside on the lawn in a new run, neutral territory with lots of food to keep them occupied! I also bought new fleece etc to prevent any territorial issues with putting them all back into the cage. It is best to intorduce them and then leave them to it, small meetings will not benefit in the long run as they start from scratch every time you take one away and then put him back!

Well Ringo is spending his first night in the big hutch with Gizmo and Steve! I keep going and checking on them, but they are just snuggling. They all shared a big pile of dandelion hay earlier, then some carrot shavings which went down a treat. I think they like the little guy :)

All is well! I had horrible visions of going out and finding Ringo dead, but no worries, all is well. Hungry piggies waiting for breakfast this morning. Ringo still is a bit shy of me, but I think he'll soon get the hang of me coming = food! Gizmo and Steve practically fall out the cage for me in the morning and evening, I'm sure he'll be no different.

He'll pick up his cues soon from the two bigger guys! I am glad that all is going well!
