Hi
I have recently been given a boar who couldn't be cared for any more by a neighbour. According to my neighbour, he is very aggressive with other guinea pigs, so hasn't seen hide or hair of one in almost a year. I have kept him in a separate hutch from my other two sets of boars so far. What should I do with him? Should I try to introduce him to one of my other pairs of bonded boars? (I also have a single girl but she's incredibly dominant, hasn't bonded with the seven boars and three ladies we've tried her with, so I'm not even going to try Puddles with her!) Or should I just put him in a separate cage beside my other boars, so that he can see/smell but not touch them? Also, does he need to be quarantined or anything? Please help!

Please do not try to introduce a single boar to a well bonded pair of yours. It can cause a permanent fall-out between the two bonded boars if the stress of a bad bonding is coming down between them.
Keep your single boy next to your pairs with interaction and stimulation through the bars. Brace for some potential initial fear-aggressive overreaction but it will hopefully die down over time.
