Bonding baby guinea pigs?

Ok most of you will know that ruby gave birth last week they are now 1 week1 day old, sadie and rosie are missing their mum something rotten they are now 8-16 weeks I have no idea on their rough age.

I want to know when it will be ok for the girls to go back in with mum and the baby girl guineas?

Hi

A lot will depend on mum and how well she tolerates the older girls. You can introduce them as soon as you like - if mum isn't keen after 30 mins or so then try again in a week, if you can house the girls next to mum and the babies for the time that they are separated then it should make the re-introduction go more smoothly.

Expect a bit of dominance from mum and squealing from the girls (this is showing that they are being submissive, normal behaviour) it should settle over a couple of days.

A large covered area rather than hideys will stop of the babies getting separated off and getting distressed.

Things have changed so I'm going to be bonding Madison and the girls together tonight and move them into a 6ft indoor cage, then get my C&C cage and bond them all including the babies, Lilee will have to be a single pig sadly shes too aggressive with other guinea pigs
