p.s i might try and bond the wee one with my one year old boar if i have to remove the little one. Do you think they would bond given the age difference?thanks!
Yes I'd say it's tim to take him away now. Some people remove boars at 3 weeks just to be on the safe side. The baby and adult should bond fine. Just keep an eye on the introductions.
You should be fine with bonding him with the older boar as he is so young the older boy will probably like having the baby to "mother".
Introduce them on neutral territory & if you are going to be putting them in the cage the older boar is already living in then you will need to wash it down, bars & all, along with dishes etc. with baby sterilizing solution first. Also it helps to rearrange the layout of items in the cage so your older boy won't know it was his place before. O0
what actually happened was we left both renee (whose parnter had to be put to sleep last week) cage open and Kev's cage open (his partner was busy being mum in a different cage and she is only young herself). So they both started visiting each other and getting on so well they we have decided to pair up those two, as they are of similar age.And the wee four week old boar we are going to keep until he is neutered and place him back with mum.
