So i recently got a new guinea pig for my bereaved guinea pig! The new guinea pig is around 7 weeks old and my other guinea pig is between 5 and 6 years old (not completely sure on the age as he was a rescue).

Anyway i put them both in a 3 by 5 c&c cage split into two so they could see each other through the barriers, however the younger one has managed to squeeze through and get to the other side. I’m debating putting something up to stop him getting through to the other side but i’m not sure if that’s the best call since they’re getting along perfectly. There hasn’t been any fighting or signs of distress, they are eating and running around together contently.

Basically just making this post for advice, should i now introduce them properly on neutral ground before removing the dividers in the cage or should i add something to the dividers so that the younger boy can’t get through for a few days. I don’t want to break up their bond as they seem very happy with each other at the moment, so any help is appreciated! Thank you and sorry for the long post
