Hi,
Newbie here after some advice please!
I had 2 boars (brothers, 3 1/2 yrs). Unfortunately one of them died
over the weekend 😰
I have been looking at options to find a companion for my remaining boar. I have been advised that it would be best to try a baby. I have located a pair of boars who will be ready in 2 weeks.
Any pointers on what
I can do to help this be a successful bond?
And what do I need to do for my remaining piggie in the meantime..? Thank you

I'm really sorry you lost a piggie at weekend
I agree about a new friend for your single boar.
Bonding is very important. On this site are very informative advise etc. Written by people who are expert . . pls read the threads. . .
Best of luck

Hi and welcome to the forum. Sorry for your recent loss. It's great that you are considering a friend for your remaining piggy however I would advise against having a trio of boars as the chances of them bonding, and remaining with a good bond, is not so great. You would be better off going to a reputable rescue where they offer boar dating and letting your piggy choose his own friend as personality compatibility is much more important than age. The guide below gives more information on what works/doesn't work

Boars, sows or mixed pairs; babies or adults?

Hi and welcome

I am very sorry for your loss.

Please be aware that boar trios, especially those with a majority of sub-adults have a very high fall-out rate once the teenage hormone spikes hit.

Ideally you could date your boy with the babies to see which one he is getting on better. Key to any successful piggy bond is mutual liking and character compatibility - irrespective of age or gender; and that goes for adult-baby boar bonds, too.

Please have a read of these links here:
