Hi,

We're taking Daisy and Oscar to the rescue we got Oscar from tommorow to trial a female/s. We obviously won't be adopting a girl unless it looks like they are getting along. If we end up coming home with a piggy, should we set up a neutral area (then move them later) or just put them all in the freshly cleaned cage (it is a 2x6 C&C cage)?

Thanks!

They can go into their cleaned out cage together. Exciting! Good luck to them.

It depends on how long they are going to be together at the rescue. If it’s only a short time then I’d bring them back and put them into neutral territory again, not the cage

I was working on the assumption they’d be together for a good while. But yes, as above.

Thanksbfor your advice. I'd say they'd be in the bonding area at the rescue for about half an hour. How long should they be in the neutral space at home before I move them into the cage?

Is it possible for them to be in the bonding area longer af the rescue? That seems such a short time. Good luck, exciting stuff 🙂

Hi! It's about 6:00pm here now. We have adopted a 4 month old female named Poppet 😍 They were (and still are) getting along very well. There has been some rumbling and chasing (from Oscar) - but only one-sided and there has been no biting. They have been in a neutral space for about 2 hours, and things are still going well. I'll probably leave them in there overnight, and then move them to their 2x6 C&C cage in the morning.

We are also planning to expand their cage to a 4x5 C&C cage as Poppet has tons of baby energy and we think they will all enjoy the extra space 🥰

Thanks for your help!
