would like to know, how people know when two guinea pigs get on enough to live together?

What is the minimum behaviour for two pigs to be classed as bonded? Lets say like one hogging the hidey house at floor time and kicking the other pig out of everything, but not really any aggression, and will.

If there's no aggression at all I class it as a success. Mine rarely like sharing anyway and are always challenging/headbutting for first dibs on veggies etc (Daisy always wins)

Ok this is great news. Before i knew how quickly guinea pigs can mate. I tried dot and burnie together a few times on floor time. It seemed to work very well, all he does is rumble struts alot and takes over the hideys, he also chased dot a bit, but then she chases him back. And they would graze together and he would nibble her ears .

Before i had burnie i had a neutered male called sky, who passed away around 2 months ago. Anyway i tried dot and him.together and he would really try a bite dot and mount her and pin her down from the side, and just wouldnt give it up

He was lovely with us though

Usually with neutered boar/sow bondings and my limited experience, I find the boar tries to hump the sow and she will "tell him off" and then he will run off popcorning.
My first bonding was an older sow constantly spraying my late Peter with wee and he absolutely loved it! :))
The only one I've had fail was Donald (current male) and Phoebe who was returned to rescue as no one of mine would bond with her. It looked like she didn't know how to tell him off and let him push until she snapped then there would be a huge spinning ball for fluff, second time she managed to bite Donald behind the ear but luckily not deep.

Lol this is really interesting. I had two female rabbits as a child who hated each other. I still remember just a fluff ball going everywhere , like a cartoon.
Thanks for your info

Not a problem. I remember being so geared up for my first bonding and it couldn't have gone smoother, almost an anticlimax. Still as stressful everytime though especially when it's not 100% clear they will get on
