So it has been awhile and we have phoned our vet, who is busy. We are trying to find another vet. In the meantime, Boo is ok, (Not panicking or having "seizures") but she has had some diarrhea. This isn't looking so good. Thank you all for the kind notes

Have read your other thread as well. The diarrhoea doesn't sound good and could be life threatening. I am so sorry you are having difficulty in finding a vet. It really does sound like Boo needs to see one as soon as possible.

Thank you for replying. I too think she needs to see a vet, but my mom thinks Boo is too sick for medicine to make a difference, and there aren't vets where I live who specialize in guinea pig surgery. She is sitting on my lap, very peaceful, and she ate some red pepper..thank you for thinking of my sweet girl x

Thinking of you and wishing your little girl all the best. Please do not feed fresh food a guinea pig with diarrhea and syringe her water to prevent dehydration. it would also help us if you kept everything to one single thread.

Sorry, I haven't been on the forum on a while, and it looks a little different so I got a little confused, but I will put my threads together next time.

If it involves the same piggie, you can just add to the same topic, that way it keeps things nice and neat and we can compare each illness as it come up. ;)

I am keeping everything about Boo's health in this thread now.
She has improved considerably! Today she was drinking from her water bottle and eating hay, as well as a little carrot.
She even squeaked a little when I opened the fridge, and when I held her. As well, her eyes have cleared up completely, and her poo is back to normal.
The one thing that we're worried about is her weight loss. She is much skinnier than her usual tubby self. In fact she is about the size that Pumkin was, not unhealthy but not extremely fat. Please comment if you see this because I am still confused about keeping everything in one thread. I have some pictures as well, but y'all will have to wait until I get photobucket up and running again.

Glad that she is on the mend! She should regain a fair bit of her lost weight as she gets better and eats normally again although that can take some time, so don't be impatient. Continue to weigh her regularly.

So after the weekend Boo continues to improve. It amazes me how quickly she is seeming more like herself. Today when I opened the fridge she stood up on the bars of her cage (do your pigs do this too?) and squeaked for her breakfast!

I have one boy who stands up on the bars facing the kitchen to see how soon the vegies are coming. The other boy just wheeks his head off so loudly he can be heard on my back porch with the sliding glass door closed. So good to hear Boo has improved so much.

Thank you everyone for your messages. Boo was fine for a week, but yesterday she got sick again. It all happened very quickly, she got stiff and very quiet, and then last night she passed away. We will bury her with Pumkin. She will be strongly missed, she meant a lot to me. XOXOXO
