Does anyone have any good (preferably cheap or homemade) ideas for boredom breakers for guinea pigs? My piggies have a lot of furniture in their cage, and I do floor time every couple of days when I can, but when I'm at college I find it difficult to find things to get them active and interested in things - I can't seem to find exciting enrichment!
I have a log from pets at home with holes in which I stuff with hay and food, but that's probably the only exciting thing they have! They also had a meadow box, and a carrot cottage which they love chewing on but I don't give them that all the time (plus they demolished the meadow box).
They love to snuggle up in blankets (Nancy in particular - she climbed into my washing basket when I wasn't looking so she could snuggle up in the blanket I had in there!) mostly, but I don't really class that as enrichment? So, any ideas?

Mine love willow tunnels stuffed with hay and any cardboard boxes with more than one entrance cut in, just in case!

Thanks! My pair do love cardboard boxes but I get worried about them eating it because they rip them to pieces!
Don’t worry about the pigs bitting the boxes! Mine also enjoy pulling the boxes apart and chewing the cardboard! They also like toilet paper rolls stuffed with hay... both the hay and toilet roll get chewed up in seconds flat!

Here are some of my temporary pig toys:
- hammock
- soft cozy hung on strings ( a little like a kammok but with walls from all sides)
- tissue boxes filled with hay
Toilet paper rolls ( filled with hay or without)
-tennis ball
- metal ball for hay or veggies
- hay racks
- teddies
- blanket piles / shelter

Thank you! I think they might enjoy blanket piles haha! I did try toilet rolls stuffed with hay but Nancy got her head stuck and I’ve avoided them ever since

I cut my toilet roll inners length ways so they can't get their heads stuck, my piggys love them. One of mine picks them up and throws them around and puts them into things like the big cardboard tube and the food bowl.

Mine love a paper bag filled with hay more than anything... it’s cheap & easy but keeps them entertained for ages. x

Mine are very similar in their behavior - they love throwing things around and fighting for toys, even throwing around wooden houses!
