Dogs, pigs and rabbits can all get bordetella. I know in dogs it's nicknames kennel cough. Rabbits can pass it to pigs if kept together. But does anyone know if a rabbit can pass it to dogs? I really really want to find out as I really want to adopt bunnies but I'm scared they would pass bordetella to my dog. The pigs would be about 8/9 meters away so I'm not too concerned about them catching it but if anyone knew if dogs could catch bordetella from rabbits it would be so so useful! Thanks x

I think that you should be OK if you make sure that your dog can anywhere where your rabbit is (including run space on the lawn - dog pee is poisonous anyway). However, I don't have either dogs or bunnies, so you may wait until somebody comes along with personal experience of this issue. I only know that piggies and bunnies have to live pretty much share accommodation for bordetella to pass across, provided you practise sensible hygiene.

Thanks so much for your reply @Wiebke
Our garden isn't massive that's the only problem and my dog already hates the guinea pigs so there's a possibility she may bark at them occasionally but as soon as we hear her we bring her in x
