I am just a bit worried that my 2 sows are bored all the time. They are nearly 2 years old. They live in a cage on my bedroom floor and I leave it open for most of the day so they can run around as much as they want. The come out and chase each other and popcorn for about 2 hours a day but for the remainder they just eat hay or lay down on the hay and lounge. They just seem so bored. I've bought them tunnels, put scrunched up paper in their cage and hang treats from the walls and stuff but they just don't seem THAT interested. I give them a variety of veggies every day. I interact with them all the time, getting them out for cuddles and they often purr at me and chatter amongst themselves on my bed while I was TV or something so I know they are happy. Can anyone suggest something that might interest them or make them seem less bored.

Thanks Nicole, Poppy and Daisy.

sounds like they are living a great life to me. Like us they just want to chill sometimes -I know I do!. You provide plenty for them to do and give lots of love and cuddles as well as their lovely veggies. They couldnt ask for more, you sound like a fab piggy owner.

I dont think they are bored so dont worry. xx

Oh thank you! That is such a nice thing to hear! I guess they are just lazy then? I just hate seeing them laying about all day and I don't understand why they don't want to come out of their cage and play with each other more. Thanks for your kind words :)

Piggies are very laid back pets, who are very busy sometimes but other times like to relax.

I love to watch mine when they are in their run, going about their business. Sometimes together, other times just chilling on their own. Could watch them for hours I'd never get bored, they are such funny little things the stuff they get up to...

You shouldn't worry. Your piggies sound happy and comfy and you are providing them with a geat life. Most piggies actually do laze about for most of the day. They are active mostly at dawn and dusk and my two certainly bear that out. The rest of the time it's sleep, eat, sleep, eat ad infinitum.
