You may have seen my post of last night 'Not quite going to plan...' well, it turns out that good things come to those who are patient.

I now have a foursome of piggles xx>>> It's still relatively early in their relationship and we're not yet completely settled, but today went 100 times better than yesterday.

I tried Suzy's suggestion of just introducing Boris to Pippa, our dominant girl at first. They stayed together for a couple of hours. First impressions were really good, they shared a dishful of grass and Boris was rumblestrutting, but then he decided that chattering his teeth would work better. This got Pippa's back right up and she went for him number of times. It wasn't viscious, but he did loose more than one tuft of hair...

First Date...

After they'd settled(ish) I added Pixel and Willow.

With Pixel, sharing sweetcorn

To cut a long story short, we had lots more chattering, lots more rumblestrutting, but no fighting. Boris eventually figured that if he chattered at Pippa for too long, she'd get fed up and take a swipe at him so he began to back down much quicker and things seemed a little calmer. I decided then to move them from having full run of the living room floor into their temporary pen to try and get them settled. They all investigated their new surroundings and new toys and settled for a snooze

Checking it all out

.......

At tea-time, all four shared the plate of veggies (although Pixel darted off with hers before I could get a snap of all four)

I won't be completely happy until they are all settled in their hutch together, but for now. Things are good!

Thanks for all of your kind and supportive words in my other thread, I just needed a kick to stick it out

Thanks too to Flintstones for your pep talk and convincing me that I have nerves of steel (well, sometimes!)

x>>

Fabulous news! I am so glad that today went better and that they are all tentatively getting on well! It can be tense introducing piggies at first but always worth it when things work out!

Your welcome glad I could help, Milo and Bette taught me. As I said we all need piggy advisors :)) xoxo.

Glad all is settled now! :) They all look beautiful together :)!

Well done! Lovely to see them all together, Boris is such a cutie!

I really like the wooden platform, I may have to knock one of those up myself.

Great news! You can't speed up bonding and it can be hair raising at times, but it is really worth sticking it out!

Now that the girls have accepted Boris, you do not have to fear anything; even though it will take over a couple of weeks for all of them to settle and the girls to have their first season with a boy - that may be VERY dramatic with LOADS of squeaking, but it also serves to bond Boris with each of the girls. By the end of it, they will be a definite group!

Thankyou! I'm so pleased xx>>> I admit that I was a little worried this morning and was so pleased when Pippa and Boris settled down to the grass.. then the chattering started again rolleyes

It certainly tested my nerves anyway :))

I really like the wooden platform, I may have to knock one of those up myself.

This one is a Trixie one. I didn't think about attempting to make one myself, but as it seems to be quite popular I may get Simon on the case :(|)

Bette still chatters at Milo and we still have flying nips, but now when Bette chatters he goes really close to her face moves his head about and has a good sniff as if saying what is that noise you make :)).

She then quickly flys and we have one running mop, Oh the joys of being little Milo! xx

I'm so glad it's all coming along nicely and that they're settling with each other a bit better now.
They look so cute together. I hope everything keeps going this well for little Boris and for you, too! Happy piggies means less stressing out for you :))

On a side note, that table is awesome! I wanted to get one but wasn't sure how big they were (since I can only find them online) it's perfect piggy size!
You just made up my mind for me...I want one! rolleyes

* Update *

Well, the good news is that all four are still in one piece this morning and the better news is that all four were sharing the same hay ball (even though there are two in the pen) xx>>>

There has been next to no chattering this morning too and I think Boris may have sussed that Pippa is in charge :))

I bought the Trixie table for the bed part of their hutch. The hay gets trampled so quickly and it's pretty much dead space after that as nopig really uses it when the hay is flat. I was using old milk boxes but they get trashed and soaked with pee in days rolleyes

they are all gorgeous! I love the table too, was looking at one on amazon but there wasnt a good review. almost bought it today alon with some fiddlesticks.Think I will go and buy it. You should get commision haha.

Hehe! Thanks Pammy :)

They've been moved out into their hutch now. As much as I wanted to keep them in again tonight, the hay was making Simon sneeze his head off rolleyes

Boris and Pippa had a bit of a scuffle at first when he just wouldn't leave her alone. But nothing serious

On last peek, he was happily sharing veggies with Willow xx>>>
