Little Piggles
Senior Guinea Pig
You may have seen my post of last night 'Not quite going to plan...' well, it turns out that good things come to those who are patient.
I now have a foursome of piggles xx>>> It's still relatively early in their relationship and we're not yet completely settled, but today went 100 times better than yesterday.
I tried Suzy's suggestion of just introducing Boris to Pippa, our dominant girl at first. They stayed together for a couple of hours. First impressions were really good, they shared a dishful of grass and Boris was rumblestrutting, but then he decided that chattering his teeth would work better. This got Pippa's back right up and she went for him number of times. It wasn't viscious, but he did loose more than one tuft of hair...
First Date...
After they'd settled(ish) I added Pixel and Willow.
With Pixel, sharing sweetcorn
To cut a long story short, we had lots more chattering, lots more rumblestrutting, but no fighting. Boris eventually figured that if he chattered at Pippa for too long, she'd get fed up and take a swipe at him so he began to back down much quicker and things seemed a little calmer. I decided then to move them from having full run of the living room floor into their temporary pen to try and get them settled. They all investigated their new surroundings and new toys and settled for a snooze
Checking it all out
