Hello everyone! Hope you are all well

So for most of Oskar's life he has had tooth problems, and apparently he had just naturally "weaker" teeth. So, he has got them clipped, and earlier this year gone under anesthetic and had them filled down and clipped to get his teeth straight so he could eat! This week's friday we took him to the vets (With Woody but will get onto him soon) and he had to go under anesthetic again (Not good!) to get them filled down, AND he ONLY had ONE tooth at the bottom, (We don't know where the other one went, haha!) and he had some serious gum issues as it was red and inflamed at the bottom. The vets pulled out the whole root of his other bottom tooth, so now he needs to learn to chew with his back teeth, and every now and again get his top front teeth trimmed. He is currently on pain killers and antibiotics. However, if Oskar gets even more serious problems we will have to make the decision of putting him to sleep, as we can't afford this anymore (We are paying for a VERY expensive IB school for my brother), if all goes well, this wont hopefully happen.

Now on to Woody, he has been getting these lumps over his body. He had one on his tummy, one on his shoulder, one on the right side of his back and one i think near his bottom (I cant remember, to be honest!). The vets had checked his lumps, and they were just fat/unharmful fluid. However, the one on his back started to get really hard and big, so the vets had him under anesthetic and had to remove it. It all went very well with both of them, and Woody has got "Stings" or stitches and they look fine. They are poking out, and i don't know if this happens, but would Woody try to tug on them?

Anyways, so we came back home on Friday with 2 drunk piggies (Not really, just from the anesthetic) and it was pretty hilarious to see them flop around and be all clumsy, hehe. They have been quite well, and its a bit tricky with the medicine but they still get it all. Do you guys have any advice with Oskar's teeth? Or Maybe about Woody's scar and stitches, maybe things that i should be aware of?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Superpiggies and the Boys!

Sorry i'm not an expert, but would suggest they have painkillers if needed to aid the healing process & to hand feed if necessary with Oskar
Debbie at @furryfriends Excellent Adventure Sanctuary is a whizz with teeth she will be able to give some better advice if you need it.
Make sure you weigh them regularly/daily at the moment just to make sure they're going in the right direction health wise.

But most of all a speedy recovery to your little ones.
Get well soon from the girls & i xx

Oscar will need hand feed and placing chopped up vegetables in his mouth. You may also need to do the same for hay. Make sure that he gets his 80% of fibre and chews as much as possible; he will need that to keep his back teeth ground down and his guts steady. Without his front teeth, he is going to struggle to pick up food.

Please ring up the clinic tomorrow morning and ask how soon they can have painkiller. It is important after an operation once the injected painkillers run out. Oscar's mouth will be very sore.

Most of Woody's lumps sound like fatty lumps (lipomas), which are harmless but with some piggies are prone to get a lot of. The operated one sounds like a cyst of some sort.

Please weigh your boys daily at the same time in the feeding cycle for the time being.

Thanks for the advice guys! Oskar and Woody have been given painkillers the morning after the surgery, and are still on painkillers for a while, and the lump that was removed from Woody was a cyst. Thanks for all the links, we didnt know how to hand feed so we will start to do it as soon as possible!
